High School Engineering
August 2014 - May 2018

I was lucky enough to have taken several engineering courses in high school. I took three years of Project Lead the Way courses: Intro to Engineering, Engineering Principles, and Aerospace Engineering. My class was the first year these courses were offered, so I was able to take on a leadership role in developing and promoting the classes. I visited the middle schools to advertise the course, talked at Parent Nights, and presented to other high school classes. I also took a class on Prototyping and Design, and was on my high school's robotics team. I helped create our school's first makerspace, and monitored the 3D printers and lasercutter while teaching other students and staff how to use them. Now, the high school has an established four year Engineering Pathway based on the original classes. Someone has likely beaten it, but one of my claims to fame in high school was that I took the most science and engineering classes out of students in my year. These experiences helped prepare me for university and got made me interested and excited about mechanical engineering.

Marble Sorter Video
This was the final project for Engineering Principles - the machine sorted marbles based on material, between plastic, wood, and metal.

Engineering Overview
I made this presentation for a STEM Open House event, where students could learn more about the various course offerings at the high school.
