This course was taught us a broad survey of common normative ethical theories. We discussed schools of thought such as ethical objectivism, subjectivism, and nihilism. We then considered specific theories like that of Utilitarianism, Kantian Ethics, Veil of Ignorance, Prima Facie, and Aristotelian Ethics. We also delved into various thought experiments, like that of the Trolley Problem, Brain in a Vat, and the Experience Machine. Much of this class was devoted to discussion and case studies.
