Mechanics & Design

I've delved into the concentration of mechanics and design through a variety of courses. I began with Mechanics I and II, and then similarly with Engineering Design I and II. The second of each were done remotely, so much of the hands-on work was transferred to analysis and theoretical learning.

Cold Forging Header Analysis

This was the final project in Engineering Design II, focused on analyzing mechanical properties and behavior of a cold forging header machine.

Steel Plate Instron Design

As the first project in Engineering Design II, we created a water-jet-cut steel plate that would have exactly 0.5 in of deflection with a 200 N load.

Flowmeter Design

This project involved creating a theoretical plan for testing and designing a flowmeter that could measure the pressure on multiple ventilators.

Electric Can Opener Teardown

In Engineering Design I, my team did a thorough teardown of an electric can opener to better understand its components and design.

Kinetic Scultpure Project

In Mechanic II, I designed a kinetic sculpture and compared its motion from a motion tracking software to its related equations of motion.

iWalk Assistive Device Analysis

This project from Mechanics I involved analyzing the forces on an iWalk - an assistive no-hands crutch - to understand how stable it was.
